Excellent Seal Performance
No silicone seal is used, the cap cannot be overtightened.
External thread screw cap tubes use a deforming compression seal which provides a
more effective seal than a silicone alternative.
The cap and tube are manufactured from the same polypropylene homopolymer (resin)
to prevent differential expansion during freeze-thaw cycles.
NB. Homopolymer provides a lower binding and wider temperature tolerance than standard
FluidX External Thread Caps feature a double start thread. The thread is engaged in a maximum
rotation of 180° (rather than 360° for internal thread) which makes the cap easier to use,
especially in automated environments.
Using a compression seal rather than an “O” ring results in a tighter seal with a more consistent torque.
Ideal for Cold Storage
As with all FluidX cryo tubes, these tubes can be flash frozen and stored at temperatures as
low as -196°C .
FluidX cryo tubes can be stored within the Gas Phase of Liquid Nitrogen.
In line with other manufactures we do not recommend that FluidX tubes are submerged in liquid Nitrogen.

All FluidX racks come with a linear barcode is directly laser etched to side, avoids complications caused by label displacement during repeated freeze thaw cycles or mechanical use.
The latest FluidX racks also feature a unique 2D rack ID which provides rack identification when using any FluidX whole rack 2D barcode readers without the need for an additional linear barcode reader. Rack and tube 2D barcode reading is performed simultaneously, ensuring a continuous chain of custody.
Free from DNase, RNase, DNA and endotoxins.
Sterilisation is achieved by irradiation conducted in accordance with EN552, ISO11137 and SI/AAMI/ST31/ST32 standards.
